Oh guys, I am the worst blogger, right? :(


I pinky swear promise I will get back on track once I start feeling better. This bebe is making me sick mostly all the time, and exhausted literally all the time. We love the little goob so much though! :D

And all this downtime has had it's advantages- one is an amazing sweet hubby who helps me with everything I need, and two is I've had some time to work on my arts! :))

Doodle Date

Yesterday, we took advantage of spring break from my class and had a picnic at the park! It was super windy but still lots of fun :) We fed the geese, walked around the lake holding hands, and just generally had a super sweet afternoon. No better company for me that this Yeti <3

Gumroad

Hey all! After being introduced to the awesome utility Gumroad (an online marketplace that directly connects the buyer to the seller, no Paypal, Ebay, etc involved. Just put in your credit card info and download!) about a week ago, I've been considering selling some digital art I've made but I wasn't sure if there would be any interest. 

So I thought I'd ask you guys, do you think you'd be interested in buying a digital copy of one of the many cards I've made over the years? It would only be the more generally worded ones of course (unless you also have a husband named Calvin, haha) and they'd only be roughly 2-3$!! Examples below :D

There are super sweet ones, silly ones, cards for friends who are away, loved ones who need cheering up, or reminders of your love. A neat way to convey your feelings and give the gift of handmade art all in one!

Calvin is cool with it, by the way haha. He thinks it would be neat to profit a little from all of the countless hours I've put into these cards for him XD 

(Purchasing would give you only the rights to print and give the card, not sell for profit, or give you any rights to the images to be reworked, or redistributed in any way.)

Bamboozled

It's so pretty :) It makes drawing on the cpu about a billion times easier so maybe I'll stop sucking and finally be able to get some drawings done. Sketched this out today!:

Thirty Day Drawing Challenge Revisited!

Well ladies and gents, I am finally picking up where I left off on the "Thirty Day Drawing Challenge" 

that I started forever ago. 

I'm officially onnnn day 8 haha. It took me a while to think of my favorite animated character (considering Odosketch doesn't have the color purple so I wouldn't be able to do Princess Bubblegum) when it came to me- Marcel the Shell! After all, stop motion counts as animation :) Plus me, my mom and Calvin have been quoting this freaking adorable short for like a week straight now. If you haven't seen the short I'm talking about, watch it now! 

Seriously WATCH. IT. :D

It's kind of heartbreaking and hilarious and wicked adorable. Soooo, without further adieu, here is my rendition of the ever confident Mr. Marcel:

Room ReDec!

We finally finished! :D 

The downstairs bedroom is now officially my craft/ clothes/ and spare bedroom room :D 

I think it turned out so rad, but don't take my word for it! Tons of pictures!:

The best part is, we only spent $100 on the whole room! I used a ton of thrifted finds I had that were mismatched throughout the house and combined them in this lovely sparkly room! I wish the pictures came out clearer to accurately represent all of the awesome haha. It's full of color and brightness and tons of art and gemstones and crafts supplies and cloootthhess! We were running out of room for all of them in the rest of the house heh. Speaking of sparkly awesomeness, I tried Sally Johnson Salon Effects nail strips today and they came out amazing! 

I'll have to do a full review sometime! They were pretty time consuming, but pretty worth it I'd say! :)

Not everything this weekend was as awesome though, on our way home from shopping for all of these things, a truck turned into our lane and smashed up my little Kia pretty bad :( 

Thankfully no one was hurt, (except a pretty whopper bruise on my knee) and I think the insurance will cover everything, but it was just not a fun way to start the weekend ya know?

Ah well, everything will work out.

Do the Loco-motion!

Happy Friday, readers! 

Honestly, is there anything better than a warm sunny Friday where you know you have the whole weekend ahead of you? Erm, maybe some things, but it's still pretty great :)

The other night, the fabulous Ms. Vikki found this super great spot along the train tracks to take pictures, and be goofy and giggle and generally have a great time. We lugged out my big old Sony DSC-H5 to take them with, since my good little camera is still sick :( Next to the tracks there was also a whole old warehouse covered in the coolest darn graffeti ever.

Despite how I look in that picture, I am not super ripped, haha. I have actually been very scrawny and a little undeveloped my whole life. I've worn the same shoe size since middle school, and didn't lose my first tooth until I was 8. I talk a big game though :)

I believe you're only as tough as the ferocity inside of you.

Charm and wit and looks are great if you are blessed with them, but that deep down strength to get through whatever lies in your path is, to me, real character. Someday, I want to get the words 'True Grit' on my knuckles just as a reminder not to lose that :)

We took some pictures of Vikki too while we were there, and I think they turned out pretty darn great. She's so beautiful its ridiculous :P

Not to mention totally hilarious and my best lady friend :) Look at that hair! It's like a cascading river of gold, haha. Speaking of beautiful people, our blog has officially hit 25 followers! :D I appreciate it so much, it is so darn flattering to know that 25 people in this world care what I have to say.

Not only that, but every last one of you is sweet and kind and some have crazy great blogs of your own! I'm so happy to be a part of your day, all of you. I mean it :)

I was mid-talking in that top one in case you couldn't tell :P

I wore some random Ross dress, a vintage leather braided belt, Target flats, and a vintage studded leather bag that I bought for 3.99 and totally adore. It was such a nice, comfy outfit for this amazing hot-but-not-too-hot with a side of breeze weather. We leave for Universal in 6 days! I can't guarantee the Florida heat won't kill me, and my hair will be an awful fuzzy mess, but boy am I excited!

For any new readers out there, Vikki is my sister-in-law. She's a little younger than us, but mature and super sweet and cute and creative. She moved into our downstairs about a month or so ago due to some family issues, and its been so nice to have her. A lot of people have been saying that it's a not a great idea to have her live with us since we're newlyweds, etc. but honestly, it's been a breeze. She's clean and nice and it's like having a sleepover every night :)

Yes, I am a nerd that still collects rocks. I really liked this one, heh. I looks like a teeny meteor :)

I realize all of the poses in this picture are almost the same, they were just all too pretty to choose from! :)

Some of these pictures were taken right as a train was going by, which was both scary and awesome :) It seems a  little crazy that locomotion still exists though! I've never been on a train before except those little sight-seeing ones in the mountains. Thats a new item on my to-do list- take a train somewhere!

Blah Blah Blog

So, generally on this blog I try to avoid excessive blahblahblah-ing. I know reading every little detail of someone's life can be a little tiresome, so generally I just keep my posts to photos and a little creative writing. With that being said, I have no photos to upload as my camera got thoroughly drenched in Chick-Fil-A Polynesian sauce (more on that later) and is getting cleaned, and I've been feeling rather uncreative these past few days, so I don't have any writing either. Let the blah blah blah-ing commence. I've included some illustrations just to keep your attention :P 

A few blahs of note:

• I ran out of gas on a major road yesterday, and nearly pee'd my pants waiting for Calvin to come get me.

• I officially have written over thirty posts for this here blog, which is probably the most dedication I've shown towards a project since 4th grade science fair, before I realized it was all rigged and the popular son of the principal would always get first place.

• When pressured into singing karaoke, I turn into a big, sweaty monster of panic.

• I really hope someone invents a public toilet seat covering system that involves less accidental touching of toilet seat.

• The Yeti and I are FINALLY taking our honeymoon, iinnn eight days! :D Wizarding World of Harry Potter here we come!

• I very much enjoy this list of 100 Best First Lines from Novels.

• I am, for sure, getting a Yeti tattoo, and very soon :)

• It is a bad idea to let your husband save the extras of his favorite condiment in your purse, and then forget it exists. It will be very hot in the car, and it will explode all over everything that you hold dear.

• This photo collection of Birds With Arms is both disturbing and hilarious.

 Also, here is a webcam picture of my face, ya' know, to hold you over until my camera is fixed :P
