Currentlay :)

I'm back in the land of the living guys! Sorry for that unannounced hiatus. Being 5 months pregnant and moving your home and increasing your hours at work can get the best of your blogging inspiration, I've found. Thought I'd kick off being back with this "Currently" post that has been circulating through the blogosphere.

Loving: Feeling like a human again! More energy, less vomiting makes Grace a happy girl!

Reading: Blue Like Jazz as suggested by Mrs. Heather Turpin :) It's incredible so far. So honest and well written.

Watching: All of our old DVDs that we stopped watching after we got Netflix! My Fair Lady, Pride and Prejudice, Bridesmaids, I've missed you! Having no internet since we moved has been good for some things :P

Thinking about: Home decor, always. We are compltely starting over from scratch with this new place so we can redo the decor together as a team :) It's going amazing so far, just slooww. Can you get a loan for furniture? Haha.

Anticipating: Finding out what our little banana sized baby is, girl or boy, this Monday!! :D I can't even tell you how excited we are for this, guys. Legit, over the moon.

Listening to:

Working on: Unpacking, redecorating, maintaining a cleaning schedule this time around, and getting the baby's room ready. So much to do and so little time!

Wishing: I could speed up time and slow it down all at once. We're sososo excited to meet this little baby and finally get to hold it and smooch it all over, but I'm also terrified and want to keep it safe inside my belly forever! haha. Creepy mom alert.
What are you currently doing?

I hope you've all been splendid :)

All the best,
Grace Elizabeth

Fresh Starts

I feel like, as readers and writers of blogs, and members of the pinterest generation, there are a few things we couldn't forget if we tried.
Things like: Do what you love. Make time for your passions. Follow your heart.

But all too often, we forget the practical ways of implementing these ideals in our daily lives. I know I do. I'm not sure if it's because of the baby and exhaustion that comes with it or not, but I've been crazy blah lately. I've dropped all of my hobbies, and rarely spend my free time doing anything but sleeping and eating. Calvin keeps me peppy, but when he's gone I just fall apart. It sounds pathetic because it is. I used to have a me to fall back on. A spirited, interesting, fun lady to come home to when Calvin was out doing karate or his newest obsession, tricking. Anymore I just kind of feel like a grumpy loser. I kind of hate it.

But, we're moving into a new place next month, and we're super stoked about it. They have a pool, workout room, picnic area, grills, tennis court, etc. I'm so happy! I really hope it will be a good place for us, and a fresh new start for baby and me. It's a little bit of a downgrade size-wise, but the baby's room will be right next to ours (which is the main reason we needed to move) and it will be a clean start for us. Something about me- I LOVE fresh starts. When my siblings grumbled and complained about us moving to another city or house, I was bouncing with excitement. I love being able to start fresh and have a whole array of possibilities at your fingertips. We've been where we live now for around three years and it's just getting stale.

On to bigger, better and brighter things, I hope. I hope the same for you too :)
If things are getting stagnant, I hope you find a way to change them. If something's off track, I hope you find a way to right it.

All the best,
Grace Elizabeth.

Fire

Hey guys! Just a quick update- I'm sure most of you have heard about all the fires going on in our pretty little state of CO so I wanted to let you know we're doing okay! The evacuations are slowly getting closer to where we are, but no matter what we'll be safe. If you're a prayin guy or gal, please do so for everyone who has lost their homes already. It's incredibly tragic to lose your belongings, but my prayer is that they'll be united in love and well taken care of by the rest of the community in their time of need. Thankfully no one has lost their lives yet, I just pray everyone is safe and evacuates when they're told to, and these brave awesome firemen and women can hang tough and keep fighting for us. We're so so thankful.

If you haven't heard about the fire, you can read about it here.

All the best,
Grace Elizabeth.

Unisex baby things wishlist!

Since we won't know the baby's gender for another 4- 8 (!) weeks, but I still love putting together wishlists and organizing my thoughts, I thought I'd do a unisex version. So many cute things! :D

Artsy Update

Oh guys, I am the worst blogger, right? :(

I pinky swear promise I will get back on track once I start feeling better. This bebe is making me sick mostly all the time, and exhausted literally all the time. We love the little goob so much though! :D

And all this downtime has had it's advantages- one is an amazing sweet hubby who helps me with everything I need, and two is I've had some time to work on my arts! :))

I'll try my very best to update more often, guys :)
Hope you have a great day!

All the best,
Grace Elizabeth.

Our Evening...

Went a little something like this:

:D
How'd yours go?

All the best

Coffee Date

Well, actually more of a hot cocoa, fruit and cheese, caramel macchiato and parfait date night, but it's whatev :P After Calvin's kempo class, we went to our same 'ol favorite Starbucks/ Barnes and Noble. Man, I love that place. We went specifically to pick up Chuck Palahniuk's new book, "Damned". Can't wait to read it!

I was reminded it came out today by Ms. Kaylah at The Dainty Squid in this post. It's so funny how exactly similar our taste in books is! :D Especially considering Chuck Palahniuk is a little sick heh. She's such a cool lady. AND we found this crazy freaking adorable mini adopt-a-yeti!!

:DDD How insane is that!! So cute! I'm bringing this guy with us everywhere, heheh. I am overly sentimental about the feelings of stuffed things by the way :P
While every night is a date night for us, it's still nice to go out and do things, even if it's as simple as books and a coffee shop.
Love you forever, my heart <3
I hope you had a lovely night, however it was spent readers.
And I hope you have a beautiful tomorrow.

All the best,
Grace Elizabeth.

Adventures of Milo and Ilona

The weather yesterday was totally gorgeous here, so we took the opportunity
to let the ferrets get some fresh air!

We got these adorable referee vests and leashes for them, and while the ferrets were not huge fans of the vests or leashes themselves, they did really enjoy getting to run around in the grass and get some sun, and we enjoyed not losing them to the wild ;)

They even got super cuddly for a while! :D It was freaking adorable.

But it didn't last for long :P They sure are rambunctious at times, but so much fun!

Ferrets are like all of the adorable of a gerbil, mixed with the agility of a cat and playfulness of a puppy- so perfect! Thank you Yeti for convincing me I'd love them! :D

Off to adventure! :P

Have a beautiful day, readers.
And go buy a ferret! Heh.

All the best,
Grace Elizabeth.

"Wild

and free, you've got no place to be."
Matt and Kim- Spare Change

While Calvin was away at his Kempo class yesterday, I got a chance to write and draw, sip iced coffee and listen to Matt and Kim on headphones while people-watching up a storm, heh.
It was nice. No laying in Yeti's arms in a comfy bed watching Netflix nice, but nice all the same.
Some time alone can be good. Or so they say, right? Oh codependence, you cruel mistress. :P

But eventually we were together again and
this little furry friend of ours wanted to say hello. :)

And I hope you have a good day,
because the truth is, you are unthinkably beautiful.

All the best,
Grace Elizabeth.

Cinematic

Well, it happened- our first snow here in Colorado!
We woke up Saturday morning to a winter white world! I was so excited :D We spent the rest of that day inside- reading books and sipping chai tea and staying cozy warm. Of course, with it being Colorado, the sun came out later that afternoon and melted it all away before I could take outfit pictures in it!
Today the snow was all gone, but it was definitely still chilly and crisp outside.

As a result of the new layout- these pictures have to be a little small.
Just click it to see the full image! :)
I got a chance to break out my new Modcloth dress and my favorite punky looking high laced boots from Target :D I freaking love these things. I also added a little silver bee pin to my belt as a homage to Summer- see you next year :)

I was surprised to see these gorgeous flowers still a 'bloomin despite the cold! What a lovely juxtaposition :)
And of course, no movie date day would be complete without some smooching under the tree leaves :P

"Autumn is a second spring when every leaf's a flower."
- Albert Camus

We had such a nice day! I even feel almost prepared for another whole long work week. Almost :( *sigh*

Calvin also wanted me to included these two slightly ridiculous pictures haha:

In the right picture, I was talking to some hipster girl that was laughing at us cause we were taking pictures apparently? And the left I was tryin not to giggle when Yeti sat in a thorny rose bush and was freaking out a little :P Tehe. I hope you too had a weekend full of kishes and warmth and crisp fall/winter air. If not, I hope it's on it's way, cause there's nothing greater <3

All the best,
Grace.

Lazy bloggin' :P

Oh sleeping in late, giggly sleepy kisses, yard sale shopping, teeny tiny adorable cabin renting, strolling through the city, shopping for rocks and minerals and soaps and jewelry, sweet little libraries, trees with scarves knitted all around them to keep them warm, matching hello kitty bandaids, swimming in freezing cold water, adorable floral bedspread, penny arcade, demonic monkey, plaid and leather camping outfit, sunny kisses and cuddelin, we miss you already :)

Keep our teeny one room cabin warm for us Manitou, see you soon <3
