Fickle Follicles

The other day, I attempted to dye my hair a lovely shade of red to match the changing leaves and maybe a million other bloggers hair heh but this is what happened instead:

Red roots, black everything else.
*le sigh*
Oh well, thats what I get for being a copy-cat I guess :P

Have a beautiful day.

Asthma Attack

The inspiration for my all time favorite word came from a vignette I read a couple of years ago. I actually did a vlog about it on my old youtube channel, but since I can't exactly watch 30 youtube videos here at work to determine which it was, I'll just type it in.

This is one of the first pieces I remember reading that gave me that ache shiver in my bones. I want to be a writer SO badly, and reading things like this reinforce that desire so much it hurts a little.

ASTHMA ATTACK by Etgar Keret

When you have an asthma attack, you can’t breathe. When you can’t breathe, you can hardly talk. To make a sentence all you get is the air in your lungs. Which isn’t much. Three to six words, if that. You learn the value of words. You rummage through the jumble in your head. Choose the crucial ones—those cost you too. Let healthy people toss out whatever comes to mind, the way you throw out the garbage. When an asthmatic says “I love you,” and when an asthmatic says “I love you madly,” there’s a difference. The difference of a word. A word’s a lot. It could be stop, or inhaler. It could even be ambulance.

*shiver*

Ah! So good it's ridiculous D: Anyway, as a result, for years my favorite word has been:

This word is a reminder to me to live passionately. To pursue all things- madly.
It is one of my strongest beliefs that if what you are living for does not make your bones shiver and ache, then it's not worth your time.

One that note, readers, have a beautiful day.

Family, Fish, and Ferrets

It was just a lazy, stay at home and play with adorable ferrets kind of Sunday.

I happened to contract some sort of wicked food posioning Friday night, and spent the rest of the weekend in a slightly catatonic state as a result. Readers who have had weird fish induced food poisoning know my pain. Your spine just shivered a little just thinking about it.

But thankfully, I was feeling mostly better by Sunday afternoon, had some family over, introduced our babies to them, and even snuck some photos of them in once they got drowsy. (the ferrets, not the family lol.)

Fun story: Ilo jump lept tackled and attacked the camera immediatly after taking that photo on the bottom left, tehe.

Aw, my boys!
^__^
No matter how bad a situation can be, it's so comforting to know I have a Yeti to hold me in the night and keep me safe, and some little furry babies to keep me smilin'.

I wish you all the best-

(P.S. I realize there has been an over abundance of ferret related posts lately-
what can I say? They're important little guys to us :) But I have some outfit posts planned and on their way, promise.)

Bento Boredom

Who ever said eating healthy wasn't fun? ;)
My little 'bento-esque' lunch includes, a hummus, baby green, turkey and cheese sandwich on whole grain wheat thins, cucumbers, celery and baby carrots for hummus dipping, and a huuugge childhood favorite- rhubarb! :D
It has been a slow, slow, mocassin slippers and funny veggie face kind of day at work today.
Anyone have a delorean I could borrow? -__-

30 Day Drawing Challenge Day 5

This is my interpretation of Liesel Meminger from The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak.
A.K.A The best book ever written ^__^
Seriously though, it is hands down one of the most beautiful, moving, inspiring books I've ever read.

"It’s just a small story really, about among other things: a girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and quite a lot of thievery. . . . "

And Have a Beautiful Day.

To my dear Momma

on your Birthday,
I couldn't be more proud and lucky to have you as a friend, Momma, and teacher.
I genuinely think my Mom is one of the most beautiful ladies alive!
I am SO happy to share my genes with her, and as I'm getting older, to see so much of her manifest itself in me.

Thanks for everything you've done and continue to do.
I hope you have a beautiful Birthday <3

To my readers- I hope you have a beautiful day,
and tell your Momma you love her.
We don't have these amazing women in our lives forever,
don't take this time for granted.

Something Teeny

Hey everyone!
Sorry the posting has been a little inconsistent on
here lately, I've been one busy bee!
I promise to get back into the swing of things just as soon as I can :)

Speaking of busy, I just now got the giveaway winner's treasure jar packed up and sent!
Sorry for the delay Courtney, but I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed putting it together! And I'd love if you let me know what you think :)
I've also been considering making up more jars-so if you were really super interested in the giveaway and didn't win, you could still purchase one from my Etsy. What do you guys think, is there any interest there?

So, because I've had no time at all to take pictures for your viewing pleasure heh, I wanted to do a little STAM post:

I have ridiculously bent pinky fingers. Fun fact, hm?
These babies incited a whole lot of jealousy in elementary school ;)

I'll be back soon with real photos! In the mean time,
have a beautiful day!
